Outdoor playgrounds for tweens and teenagers - GALAXY™ by KOMPAN

A modern playground giving teens and tweens a reason to play

Not that long ago, tweens, let alone teenagers, viewed a playground as a place for their younger siblings rather than for their enjoyment - and with good reason. There was a cultural gap in the market that needed to be filled with fun and exciting age-appropriate play experiences for tweens and teens.

To fill the market gap, KOMPAN designed a series of teen-spirit play structures in conjunction with tweens and teenagers that offer built-in responsive, inclusive, and dynamic activities.

GALAXY™ by KOMPAN is a crossover between KOMPAN playgrounds and fitness sites. The structures beautiful curves and transparent design is a favourite with architects and developers worldwide and will challenge older children to engage in physical and social play.

GALAXY™ is often used as a crossover between KOMPAN playgrounds and fitness sites. And because of its beautiful curves and transparent design, GALAXY™ is a favourite with architects and developers around as its regarded as the origin of modern commercial playground equipment.

Outdoor play is one of the best and most valuable forms of development activity. The events of 2020 have underlined just what it means to be without it. If there are any positives from the global lockdown it is in the realisation of what it means to get out and enjoy life and the importance of fresh air in terms of basic health. The value of the playground has never been so understood and tweens and teens were not excluded from those who sought a break from life in front of a screen.

Is all of Galaxy products listed on KOMPAN's website and catalogue?

Certainly not, perhaps more than any other KOMPAN product; it is the most flexible. The super-structure can be configured in an almost endless number of ways and sizes, and then there is colour. The polyethylene terephthalate components come in blue and lime,

How can teenager structures be so active be inclusive?

There is no denying that the structure is aimed at adventurous tweens and teens who are drawn to climbing its ridges and slopes, but the underside is designed to offer wheelchair users involvement.

Why doesn’t the Galaxy structure rust?

The secret lies in top quality steel that is hot-dip galvanised and then given a powdered coating (if coloured)
