Large Two Mast Spacenet Combination Designed by Shoalhaven Council-contact Kay Murray Landscape Architect
A combination of a Large and Small Spacenet with a bridge between offers large groups of 5-12 year olds long periods of open ended physical play. A nautical theme is created here by adding a concrete wall that becomes part of the ship and creates the boundary for the sand softfall. This net becomes the ship’s sails.
The grand scale and nautical theme of this play area helps to make this beautiful community now even more of a destination point. Children aged 5-12 years still spend about 30% of their play time engaged in social interactive play, so small seats were included in the mesh to provide places for kids to perch and socialize. The world looks very different and feels very exciting up near the top of the 7.4m height mast!
