Dagnæsskolen, Denmark

A safety inspection became the starting point for the establishment of an entirely new playground at Dagnæsskolen in Horsens, Denmark.

"The proposal was prepared by KOMPAN's consultant in collaboration with a landscape architect." Managing teacher , Annette Block Petersen

We looked into the suppliers in the market and quickly narrowed it down to two options.

"One of the most popular pieces of play equipment is without a doubt the large COROCORD net, where students do the most incredible exercises. The swings, both the swinging nest and the traditional swings, are also very popular, and the solution of placing the swings in a row has proven to be optimal, as it allows students to communicate with their friends on the other swings. I would also like to highlight the Supernova, which also attracts groups of students to it. Children always play together in smaller groups and have a great need to see themselves reflected in others, which all three pieces of play equipment give good opportunities for."

"We are very proud of our new playground, and it is nice to see that it is used as a natural meeting place for children who live in the area", says Anette Bloch Petersen, managing teacher.

Here, KOMPAN distinguished itself by presenting a very well-thought out plan where great emphasis was placed on how the individual pieces of play equipment develop the motor abilities of the children. The proposal was drawn up by KOMPAN's consultant in collaboration with a landscape architect. The consultant was highly skilled, and his project description had many facets to it, such as the location of the individual items of play equipment relative to each other was thoroughly thought out to support the children's need for playing in groups.
